You're Beautiful

I'm not sure why but this song struck me at a recent church wedding I've attended. The song was sang by Phil Wickham but this rendition is nice too. :)

I'm not good with uncertainties.
I hope everything turns out fine and goes well.
I'll be forever thankful.

the tiny dusty corner of my heart and mind

it's funny how many years it has been
still there are so many little things that make me think of you
every little thought of you makes my tender heart ache alil' more
i often wonder if you would think of me too
if your heart beats alil' slower whenever the very little things remind you of me
if you still miss the good times we've had
if.
so many things i might have regretted, but i think that part of my youth, with you and me, will always be the one regret, the one memory, the one i'll always remember, bittersweetly, you.

God bless my tender heart and the love and grace I'll receive again. Amen.

"Heart Beats Slow" by Angus & Julia Stone
Well I heard you were
You were lying
About how brave you are
Well I heard you were
You were still trying
Trying to get back to the start

No, he won't let it into the kitchen
No, he won't let it into the house
No, he won't let it through the front door
'Cause it's burning her pretty little heart

I'm gonna miss you
Gonna miss you, girl
And all of the things we could've done

You said I move so fast
That you can hardly see
You said I move so fast
How could you be with me?

But my heart beats slow
But my heart beats slow
But my heart beats slow
But my heart beats slow

Well, I wish you, wish you well
All the best
Well, I wish you, I wish you well
All the best

No, he won't let it into the kitchen
No, he won't let it into the house
No, he won't let it through the front door
'Cause it's burning her pretty little heart

You said I move so fast
That you can hardly see
You said I move so fast
How could you be with me?

But my heart beats slow

But my heart beats slow
But my heart beats slow
But my heart beats slow

Once again, I feel this way. I hope what I choose to do is what God had wanted me to do. I pray for peace, love, health and happiness. Amen.

The Thoughts that Ran Through My Head
Sunday, September 21, 2014 • 4:23 PM • 0 comments
Running always gives me time to think to myself. Some people call it 'me-time', 'self-talk', etc. Well, yesterday I thought of something. It wasn't something new to me but it has proven to be true over the years.
It all started when a few student leaders from RGS held a leadership/motivational programme for students in my school. One of them whose name, I think, was Subashini, wrote a note for me and on it, it was written "Aim for the moon. Even if you don't reach it, you will land among the stars." Being a little girl with no older sisters as role models, what she said was impressed upon me. I wanted to go RGS but didn't do exceptionally well. I did well enough to be offered SAP schools. My 2nd brother was also a role model who gave me advice on sponsorship and that grades weren't the only thing that makes one outstanding. Eventually, I attended his college as well.
It was not easy being a little fish in big ponds but I swam with the school (pun intended ;)) and did average. It was good enough to lessen the financial load and my parents were able to retire early. :)

Right now, I'm very thankful for what I've received. It is indeed God's Grace.

As I was running 10km on an early Saturday morning along the sea, I thought to myself:
It's nice to be the best and beat everyone else. It's not possible for the world to support so many 'best' people (with reference to 'winners' in economics). However, you do not need to be the best to be happy or satisfied or to live well. We all have our own personal best and that's good enough. You just have to learn from the best, work with the best, move with the best and even if you're not the best, you won't be far off.

Yes and that was my Saturday morning. No, I didn't win the top 10 prizes in the run but Yes, I finished the race and was ahead of many others. :)

Almost Mid-life Crisis
Sunday, August 31, 2014 • 9:43 PM • 0 comments
Many things happened and yet not many things happened recently.
I'm really into this korean show and as usual, I've marathon-watched it all.
In the past, I've always thought of trying out many other jobs if i weren't bonded. Now that I've switched schemes, I do have the choice to leave and pursue whatever I would like to.

If I am given a local offer, I may seriously consider taking 6 months to 12 months off to try living abroad on my own. As usual, I'm not good with picking up new languages so I think I'm keen to go to somewhere I can speak English or Mandarin.

On one hand, I want to do this while I'm still young and single. On the other, I know I still have bills and charges to pay...

Decisions, decisions, decisions... To be or not to be? That's the question.
