As a little girl
Saturday, September 26, 2015 • 1:24 PM • 0 comments We all had dreams as a little child, that thought or comment of 'one day I'm gonna...'.Well, most of mine are slowly realized over the years and as my third decade on Earth is gradually approaching, I reminisced and pondered over everything that has happened and hasn't happen. You know, the kind of emo nemo stuff I am often overly indulgent on. If there's anyone who knows me or has read my blog's previous entries, you would know I'm really not good with relationships - to stay in it or to keep someone. It's scary how judgmental people can be, to know you have been single all your life, to know you have had abusive relationships, to know you have had many relationships, etc. They conjure up may hypotheses like your bad childhood, your appearances, your character, your ambitious desire, your materialism, your lack of fidelity and many more. And yes, I've been in conversations like these and although the comments were not directed at me, I often wonder what they thought of me. It sort of reminded me of the many reasons why people are plump especially after the viral fat/body shaming videos. I can understand that for some people, they want to slim down and have tried hard but haven't had much success due to external reasons like health/biological conditions. For some people I know, it was a challenging but beneficial journey to healthier and slimmer bodies. So, I guess, I'm not sure what's happening here but I would like to believe it's a combination of Nature versus Nurture debate. I would also like to believe I am becoming a better person as time goes by. I do not want a 'anything goes' outcome. Sparks should fly and pieces should fit. So, it's gonna be a 'we shall see' situation. In the mean time, I believe that we should do things that we want to regardless of marital status. There will always be down times but life is too long for sadness and too short for happiness. Let's take a better route, smell the roses and enjoy. Peace out and God bless. Here is the daylight, the daylight you've been looking for
There, there I am, seeking refuge in the silent night
As I go, I go, wandering through the stars
Lift me up, stop me from remembering
The times we kissed and the times we held so tightly
Is there no reason to stay?
Is there no room to live?
Why won't you say you love me?
Love, is a choice, not just a feeling
Times like these, don't throw it all away
Let's fix it, mend it, cherish it, even when it's broken
Because love, is a promise we made to fix us, to fix us.
So come home darling, come home dear
Hold me close in the quiet night
Bring me to the morning light
Till the end of time.
![]() Meanwhile, I just want to remember something good that happened today. A cab driver stopped to pick me up and sent me to the nearest MRT station while on his way home. He said he wanted to preserve the Choa Chu Kang Kampung spirit and give someone in need a ride. He explained that at that time, the cab drivers were changing shifts so it would have been difficult to get a cab at where I was standing. Awww... =) He made my day. Life has been tough in recent weeks. I'm so lost and forlorn. I just want to grab on to the good things that do come. SHC6207X, thank you! Wednesday, May 22, 2013 • 10:19 PM • 0 comments A child asked a wise man, "What is love?"The wise man replied, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back. However you can go through it only once and you cannot turn back to pick." The child went to the field, going through the first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wondered whether there may be a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one and wonder if there may be an even bigger one waiting for him. Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he started to realise that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he knew he had missed the biggest one, and he had regretted it. So, he returned to the wise man empty-handed. The wise man told him, "my child, this is love. You kept looking for a better one, but when you realise that every one you meet is no longer better, you have already missed the one." "What is marriage then?" the child asked. The wise man said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. The same rule applies - you can go through it only once and you cannot turn back to pick." The child went to the corn field and this time he was careful not to repeat his mistake. When he reached the middle of the field, he picked a medium-sized corn which he felt would satisfy the criteria and came back to the wise man. The wise man told him, "this time you brought back a corn and you looked for one that is just nice. You had faith and believed that this is the best one you get. So child, this is marriage." Some of us are fortunate to have met someone we loved and knew he was the one. Most of us stumbled in the game of love and suffered a few heart aches before we decided on someone who feels right. Yet, there are those who fell in love, fell out of love and never found someone to settle with. Whom am I right for, the one would love me for me? I may not be perfect but I am ready to be found and to love. God, let me be found and treasured. Labels: 2013, life, love, marriage |
